Govt tenure depends on time, situation: Obaidul

Update : 28 Feb 2014, 10:44 PM

Reiterating that the Awami League was elected for five years Communications Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said it depends on time and situation whether the present government will remain in power until the expiry of its tenure.

“Time and situation will say whether we will stay in power for five years,” he said while addressing a function arranged at Abirnagar of Laxmipur Municipality at noon, according to UNB.

Obaidul also said the government was embarrassed by not having representation from a big party like the BNP in the parliament.

He made the statement while inaugurating high reservoirs and water refinery projects costing Tk13 crore and Tk75 lakh respectively in Lakshmipur Municipality yesterday afternoon.

Awami League MPs AKM Shahjahan Kamal and M Abdullah and Jatiya Party (Ershad-led) MP MA Noman were, among others, present at the function presided over by Laxmipur Municipality Mayor Abu Taher.
