Muhith urges US, UK to refrain from advocating midterm poll

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has urged the US and the UK to refrain from advocating a midterm election.

He said: “There was no room for holding such an election. The US and the UK have to understand that this government is a valid government. Hence, there will be no midterm election.”

Muhith made the statement while inaugurating a power plant.

He said: “We will stay in power until 2019 since the people have cast their votes for us.”

He also held the BNP responsible for the mistreatment of the US and the UK government. The party has boycotted the election driven by their ill wit.”

In replying to a query, he said: “The size of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year will be Tk250,000 crore.”
