President Abdul Hamid yesterday visited the country’s highest peak Keokradong (3,172 feet) of Bandarban.
After reaching the highest point in the country by a helicopter, the president enjoyed the scenic view there.
Local indigenous groups welcomed the president and expressed splendid joy to see him on their terrain.
On his way back, the president enjoyed the superb aerial view of the Boga lake on top of a hill in the district.
Chief of Army Staff Gen Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen Sabbir Ahmed saw the president off at Keokradong.
Earlier last night, Abdul Hamid enjoyed a colourful cultural show, staged by different local ethnic groups, at Nilgiri, where the president spent his night.
The president returned to the capital this afternoon after his two-day visit to Rangamati and Bandarban districts.
