A Dhaka court yesterday granted bail to Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Habibur Rashid Habib and Swechchhasebak Dal Organising Secretary Shafiul Bari Babu in two separate cases.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Jahurul Haque granted the bail to the leaders in the cases filed with Sabujbagh and Motijheel police stations respectively.
The court, however, rejected the bail pleas of Habib in 10 other cases filed with Motijheel, Sabujbagh, Paltan and New Market police stations.
Earlier police arrested the JCD leader from the city’s Shantinagar area on November 17 of last year.
On the other hand, the court rejected the bail petitions of Babu in three other cases filed with Mirpur, Paltan and Motijheel police stations.
The police arrested the Swechchhasebak Dal leader from the city’s Bangla Motor area on November 13, 2013.
