The government is preparing a list of perpetrators of anarchy and will take strict actions against them, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader said.
The minister was speaking in a press briefing in Sylhet on Monday morning after visiting the under-construction Kazirbazar bridge.
“All parties are participating in the upazila elections spontaneously,” he told the media expressing hopes that the polls will be held in a free and fair manner.
The communications minister arrived Sylhet in a helicopter in the morning. He offered prayers to the shrine of Hazar Shahjalal and Hazrat Shahparan.
Later, he attended a meeting with Awami League activists in Jalalabad Gas Auditorium. Former law minister Abdul Matin Khashru and ex-foreign minister Dipu Moni were accompanying him.
