Gana Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain has asserted that a fresh election is compulsory as 90% people did not cast votes in the January 5 election.
The veteran politician made the statement at an extended meeting of Gana Forum central committee on Saturday afternoon.
“The 10th parliamentary election has almost set world record in its mechanism,” he said.
Dr Kamal stated that dependency on a single person [chief of a political party] has become a curse for the nation.
“Do not depend on any single person. It is a major weakness in the South Asian region,” he told his party leaders.
Calling upon the government to stop politicisation and corruption, Dr Kamal said: “You [government] have formed the government with cent percent support. Even the opposition party is extending support to you.”
