Two cases were filed against 300 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, including its campus president and secretary, for vandalism at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
Eleven Shibir supporters were nabbed until Monday. Additional police forces were deployed through the campus after the incident took place on Sunday.
Registrar Ishfaqul Hossain filed the first case against SUST Shibir President Hossain Ahmed, General Secretary Ehsanul Karim and about 150 others with Jalalabad police.
Jalalabad police Sub Inspector Abul Kalam filed the second case against 65 named and about 70 other unnamed supporters of Shibir, the student front of Jamaat.
Jalalabad police Sub Inspector Abdul Hamid said 11 Shibir activists were nabbed on Monday. They were Junel, Chamak Ali, Ibrahim Ali, Ehsanul Mahbub, Abul Leich, Zakir Hossain, Kazi Abed Ali, Ali Amzad Khan, Moinul Ahmed, Mohammad Belal and Alibur Rahman.
On Sunday, at least six people were injured, including policeman and 10 buses were vandalised when Shibir supporters ran havoc at SUST campus premises after a clash with Bangladesh Chhatra League.
