A Dhaka court Wednesday rejected the bail petitions of five BNP leaders in two cases filed with Motijheel police station and a case filed with Ramna police station.
The leaders are Moudud Ahemed, Rafiqul Islam Mia, MK Anwar, Shamsur Rahman alias Shimul Biswas and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Advisor Khonder Mahbub Hossain.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Zahurul Haq passed the order in the afternoon.
Of the leaders, Moudud, Rafiqul Islam Mia, MK Anwar and Shimul Biswas were accused in two cases filed with Motijheel police station while Khonder Mahbub was accused in a case filed with Ramna police station.
The defence lawyer Sanaullah Miah filed separate bail petitions for the leaders.
After hearing, the court rejected the bail pleas.
However, Sanaullah Miah said they would go to the High Court in this regard.
