The BNP yesterday warned that the ruling party would have to pay dearly in future for the one-sided parliamentary election.
The BNP’s warning came hot on the heels of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s statement that the BNP has to suffer for boycotting the polls.
“When 95% people boycotted election mockery the Awami League president said BNP would have to pay for not participating in the polls. Her statement proves that she wants to go with the unelected clowns,” Asaduzzaman Ripon, international affairs secretary of the party.
It cannot be a people’s government as they did not go to cast their votes. The prime minister is not saying it in public but she is certainly realising the truth. And that’s why the ruling party has to pay politically in future, Riponn said this to ournalists at a press briefing at party’s Nayapaltan headquarters.
