Some 10 people were injured in a factional clash of Awami League in Mingram village under Sailkupa upazila in the Jhenaidah district on Friday morning.
Of those injured, one was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital and five to Sailkupa upazila health complex. The remaining four were treated locally.
Abaipur Union Awami League Secretary Abul Kalam Azad said a group of 50 to 55 supporters of Upazila Parishad Chairman Nayeb Ali Joarder, defeated independent candidate of the 10th National election, attacked the supporters of winning Awami League candidate Abdul Hyee MP with sharp weapons around 8:30pm.
Confirming the clash, Sailkupa police station Officer-in-Charge Ashraful Bari said a case will be filed in connection to the incident.
