HM Ershad’s Jatiya Party candidate for Barisal constituency 3 has boycotted the 10th national elections alleging polls being rigged in various polling centres within the district on Sunday.
Golam Kibriya Tipu declared boycotting the polls, claiming that president of the Workers Party of Bangladesh directly campaigned for his party candidate Tipu Sultan.
Members of Workers Party had taken position in the polling centres and were casting fake votes, he said.
Golam alleged that his polling agents were forcefully taken out of the polling centres.
