Police arrested some 35 activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir from the DC Hill area in Chittagong on Friday evening.
The Jamaat-Shibir activists were apprehended from DC Hill at around 6pm, because the police were suspecting that they were plotting to engage in subversive activities around the city.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Kotwali Circle), Mirza Saiem Mahmud confirmed the arrest to the Dhaka Tribune.
