Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, is set to visit Rangpur on Tuesday to seek vote for her in the 10th parliamentary polls.
The leaders and activists of Rangpur district and Pirganj Upazila Awami League and its associate organizations have taken massive preparations to make her visit a success.
The AL leader is a candidate for Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) constituency in the national elections.
Hasina will land in Syedpur by a helipad and later she will go to Pirganj by road.
The AL president will address a good number of roadside rallies to seek vote for boat.
The BNP-led 18-party alliance has called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Rangpur district protesting her visit here for running election campaign.
Security in the district has been fortified, with Special Security Force (SSF), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Army personnel.
