BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was being barred at the gates of her Gulshan residence while she was trying to mobilise for Nayapaltan to attend the party's Dhaka March programme on Sunday.
Khaleda was seen standing at the gates of her residence carrying the national flag at 3:35pm.
Earlier, the opposition chief was seen waiting in her car ready to head out at 2:50pm, but about a hundred law enforcers were blocking the main gates.
The gates were opened for the first time since Saturday night around this time. Her personal secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed and assistant personal secretary Suratuzzaman were seen.
Elite force Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) joined with the existing police forces around 3pm.
Earlier, more police forces were seen to be deployed around her house upon news that Khaleda Zia will come out of her residence at any moment.
The deployments were strengthened in the night after BNP announced on Saturday that the opposition chief will attend the Dhaka March programme herself.
Two sand-carrying trucks had blocked the roads leading out of the BNP chairperson's residence since Saturday night.
