AL terms Khaleda's speech unrealistic

Update : 24 Dec 2013, 01:34 PM

Terming BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s speech as unrealistic, unacceptable and full of false information, Awami League Advisory Council Member Amir Hossain Amu said the BNP was making lame excuses to skip the polls.

The politician on Tuesday made the remarks while expressing his party’s reaction over the speech given by the opposition leader.

Rejecting Khaleda's claim that her party was interested in reaching a consensus through meaningful dialogue, he said: "Although BNP is now showing its interest to join the polls, the fact of the matter is that the party will not join without its key ally the Jamaat-e-Islami."

Mentioning that Khaleda Zia was serving the interests of Pakistan, Amu said: "She didn't accept any proposals regarding dialogue, rather she continued the nationwide violence that hurt countrymen."

He alleged that Khaleda Zia does not believe in the constitution, he said: "She herself does not believe in our constitution as the constitution represents the spirit of the Liberation War, which has been reinstated by Sheikh Hasina’s government.
