Having excessive wealth was a usual matter, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said on Tuesday while replying to queries of journalists.
He made the statement while speaking to journalists at his office over recent newspaper reports on the sharp rise in the wealth of some MPs and ministers.
“Having excessive wealth is a usual matter as asset increment is a normal process,” said Muhith.
When asked, he said: “The Anti Corruption Commission or National Board of Revenue could investigate the affidavits submitted by the MPs and ministers to the Election Commission.”
Newspapers’ recently reported a sharp rise in the wealth of some MPs and ministers over the last five years.
