Report on Jamaat’s war role soon

Update : 21 Dec 2013, 08:10 PM

The investigation report on crimes against humanity committed by Jamaat-e-Islami during the Liberation War would be submitted to the court as early as possible, an official said yesterday.

Investigation Officer Matiur Rahman, also an additional superintendent of police, said the probe report had been prepared after tight scrutiny of various documents.

The investigation began on August 18 this year.

The verdicts delivered already by the war crimes tribunals mentioned several times about Jamaat’s role in the 1971 war and termed Jamaat a “criminal organisation.”

Abdul Hannan Khan, coordinator of the tribunal’s investigation agency, said they were working on 11 more cases.
