The ruling Awami League has called upon its leaders and activists to resist those who are inciting anarchy across the country.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub ul Alam Hanif made the call at a meeting for the party’s Dhaka city unit.
“We have to resist the anarchy and after victory day every attack will be rightly retaliated for,” said Hanif.
Pointing to the BNP and Jamaat, he said: “Stop terrorist activities. Otherwise you will have to face the united resistance of all pro-liberation forces.”
“We’ve held enough patience. But we have reached the limit,” said Hanif.
He added that the BNP and Jamaat, under the leadership of Khaleda Zia, are executing anarchic activists and killings throughout the country.
He alleged that BNP-Jamaat want to spread the violence to every house as they want to make ours a failed state.
However, he emphasised that AL’s activists should not be engaged in conflict themselves even if they are provoked to.
