Update : 29 Jul 2017, 04:22 PM
China has said they are encouraged with the momentum of dialogue between Awami League and BNP, which took place at the mediation of the United States. The Embassy of China issued a statement in this regard on Thursday. “China is of view that it is high time for Bangladsh statesmen to make the best use of their wisdom to hammer out a solution acceptable to all,” it said. “This will surely be beneficial to this coutry and its people, as well as regional stability and development at large,” the statement said. The statement also said China’s special envoy of foreign ministry, ambassador Luo Zhaohui, came to Dhaka on a two-day trip on Wednesday. During the visit, Zhaohui called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, BNP chief Khaleda Zia and Jatiya Party Chairman, Hussain Muhammad Ershad, and met other highups of the government and major political parties. The mission of Ambassador Luo’s visit aims to promote bilateral friendship and all-round cooperation, especially to strengthen coordination with Bangladesh on the construction of BCIM Economic Corridor.
