Bogra AL MP's house torched

Miscreants set fire to the house of a local member of parliament (MP) of the Awami League, Abdul Mannan, in Bogra Sadar on Thursday.

The incident took place after the review petition on execution of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Molla was dismissed by the apex court.

Thursday also observed a nationwide blockade of the BNP-led 18-party alliance.

The house of Abdul Mannan, MP of Bogra-1 constituency was set on fire around 7:15pm, Bogra police Assistant Superintendent Gaziur Rahman said.

Police fired some rounds of rubber bullets to disperse the miscreants from scene, he added without specifying who might be behind this act.

Meanwhile, reports came in that opposition supporters had blocked the Dhaka-Dinajpur highway at three different points.
