Ruhul Amin Howlader, secretary general of Jatiya Party, said the Jp ministers, who joined the polls-time cabinet, would not join the regular cabinet meeting on Monday.
He said: “We will not join Monday’s cabinet meeting as we all have resigned from it.”
He made the announcement while talking to journalists after paying a visit to the President, Abdul Hamid, on Sunday night. Replying to queries of journalists, he said: “I have met the president and inquired about his health conditions as he returned home after taking treatment in Singapore.”
Regarding the resignation issue of JP Ministers, Ruhul Amin said: “The resignation of the ministers have been sent to the prime minister.”
However, he didn’t confirm how the letters were sent and whether those reached to the PM’s office
Asked about the nomination withdrawal, he said some nominations had already been withdrawn and the rest would be withdrawn within a few days.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ershad asked his party members to resign from the polls-time cabinet and withdraw their nomination papers. On Tuesday, HM Ershad declared his party would not participate in the upcoming elections without participations of all political parties.
The 10th general elections are to be held on January 5 next year.
