Local unit BNP called a 60-hour hartal again from Tuesday protesting the killing of a local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal during the day-long shutdown yesterday.
District BNP General Secretary Aminul Haque announced the fresh shutdown programme yesterday.
The hartal will begin at 6 am on Tuesday and continue until 6pm on Thursday, reports BSS.
Earlier, a local leader of JCD, the student front of BNP, was shot dead and 15 others were injured in a clash with Awami League activists in Kanaikhali culvert area of the town during the day-long hartal enforced by local BNP in the district protesting the arrest of Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Saifuzzaman Sujon, the 24-year-old joint secretary of Poura unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
