Awami League members on Monday assaulted a police official when law enforcers tried to stop them from forcefully entering Bogra deputy commissioner’s office.
The assaulted police official was Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain.
Witnesses said Municipal Awami League Convener Rafi Newaz Khan Robi assaulted Anwar, when he tried to stop the crowd from entering the deputy commissioner’s office around 12:30pm, which angered the AL leader.
The incident took place when District Awami League President Mamataz Ahmed went to the deputy commissioner’s office to submit his nomination paper.
