JSD delegation urges president to hold talks

To resolve the existing political crisis, a delegation from Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, led by its President ASM Abdur Rob yesterday requested president Abdul Hamid to take initiative to hold a national dialogue with all political parties, professional bodies and civil society members.

Rob made the request during the six member delegation visited Bangabhaban, said a JSD press release.

During the meeting, the delegation discussed on country’s current political situation and portrayed ascenario on the losses of lives and properties in the ongoing political violence.

They also pressed a five-point suggestion to the president, including formation of an 11-member cabinet committee consisting distinguished and neutral members from the society.

The president would take steps following provision of the constitution, Abdul Hamid assured the delegates.

Earlier, a delegation from the opposition 18-party alliance and a delegation from civil society members had held meetings with the president and sought his intervention to resolve the current political crisis.
