At least nine people were injured in a clash between the activists of ruling Awami League and main opposition BNP at Rajakar crossing in the district’s Baraigram upazila, Wednesday afternoon.
Mahfuzzaman, assistant superintendent of Baraigram circle police, said: “A chase and counter chase ensued between the activists of AL and BNP on Tuesday evening. Following the incident, a group of BNP men attacked the houses of three Awami League leaders in the afternoon.
At one stage, the activists of AL and BNP locked into a clash, leaving nine people injured on both sides,” he added.
After being informed by the locals, police rushed on and nabbed seven BNP members from there, informed Baraigram police.
