Information and cultural affairs minister Hasanul Haq Inu has confirmed that Awami League secretary general Syed Ashraful Islam and BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday held a meeting on polls-time government.
He said more such meetings will take place to create a congenial atmosphere in the political arena, while talking to reporters at his office at the secretariat on Sunday.
Ashraful and Fakhrul held a meeting for about an hour at a residence at Banani in the capital on Saturday night.
“The door of dialogue is not shut and there is scope for compromise. I believe opposition leader Khaleda Zia would take part in the election to continue the democratic process,” the information minister added.
