Jatiya Party Presidium Member Kazi Zafar Ahmed on Saturday said HM Ershad, the chief of his party, had betrayed the nation by joining the polls-time cabinet.
“Ershad took the decision to join the interim cabinet without consulting the party’s highest policymaking body,” Zafar said in a statement.
The leaders who joined the newly formed cabinet had also been declared unwanted by the people of their respective districts, he said.
The statement reads: “Thousands of JP activists were insulted and disappointed at the decision.”
The senior leader of the party urged the party activists to take preventive position against those leaders.
