Veteran politician, freedom fighter and former lawmaker Mirza Sultan Raza died on Sunday afternoon at his Khilgaon residence in the capital.
The 75-year old politician was suffering from various diseases, including cardiac problems, for several years.
After his first Namaz-e-Janaza at Khilgaon, Raza’s body was taken to his village home in Chuadanga where he will be buried with state honour after his second Namaz-e-Janaza this morning.
Raza, who was one of the founding members and executive president of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), had been elected a lawmaker after joining the Awami League.
President of a JSD faction ASM Abdur Rab and its General Secretary Abdul Maleque Ratan expressed deep shock at the death of Raza.
