A female police was injured after pickets threw brick on her in city’s Kajir Deori area on Wednesday afternoon.
Samina, a constable of Kajirdeori police station, came under attack while dispersing the pro-hartal activists from the street around 12:30pm.
She was taken to a local hospital immediately after the incident.
Meanwhile, hartal supporters exploded two crude bombs in the area around 1:30pm. Police also recovered a fresh crude bomb from the spot.
Police nabbed nine people from Kajir Deori and Chatgaon areas in the afternoon while conducting subversive activities.
Assistant Commissioner of Kotoali Circle, Mirza Saeem Mahmud told the Dhaka Tribune: “Of the nine detainees, two were picked up from Kajir Deori while seven others from Chatgaon area.”
Officer-in-charge of Chatgaon police station Abdur Rouf said three of the arrestees were suspected to be Shibir activists.
