Update : 30 Oct 2013, 07:08 PM

Sheikh Hasina is expected to sit with the leaders of two Islamist parties on Thursday as part of her series of meetings with political parties to ask for their opinions on an all-party polls-time government.

The premier will sit with the leaders of Bangladesh Tarikat Federation and Bangladesh Islami Oikkya Jote at her official residence Gana Bhaban at 7pm.

Awami League Presidium Member Kazi Zafarullah said the prime minister would sit with like-minded Islamist parties to listen to their opinion on the PM-proposed all-party polls-time cabinet.

Tarikat Federation Chairman Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandhri and Bangladesh Islami Oikkya Jote Chairman Misbahur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed their meeting with premier on Thursday.

She will sit with other like-minded Islamic parties later.

The PM following her proposal for formation of the all-party polls-time government during her address to the nation on October 18 had meetings with ruling grand alliance partner Jatiya Party, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD).

Hasina, also the ruling Awami League president, phoned BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia inviting her to a dialogue on Saturday but the opposition leader turned down her request.

At the last cabinet meeting held on Monday Hasina told her cabinet colleagues that she would sit with Gana Forum, Bikalpadhara and other political parties.
