Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy on Tuesday said the opposition BNP was making excuses to escape dialogue between the prime minister and the leader of the opposition.
He made the comment while talking to journalists after his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday night.
He said: “The main opposition BNP is now trying to invent a number of excuses in order to escape the dialogue on polls-time interim government.”
The country was waiting in eager anticipation for the phone conversation between the two leaders that took place on Saturday, hoping that it would open doors to a consensus regarding the polls-time government debate.
However, when the prime minister called up the opposition leader to invite her for dinner at Ganabhaban and to initiate a dialogue over the polls-time government, the opposition leader said she could not accept the invitation because of the hartal.
Khaleda said she could make it only after the 60-hour countrywide hartal ending Tuesday if she got a fresh invitation.
