Fakhrul: Release of conversation to hinder dialogue

Update : 29 Oct 2013, 10:58 AM

The telecast of the conversation between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia would hinder the dialogue between the two parties, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Tuesday.

The BNP leader also alleged that releasing the conversation was out of norms.

He said the government is spreading propaganda by saying the BNP does not want to hold dialogue.

“The government is staging this drama to make the dialogue a failure,” Fakhrul said while talking to journalists at BNP’s Nayapaltan office in the morning.

The BNP spokesperson further alleged the conversation between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been made public intentionally.

“But the conversation proved that the prime minister did not invite Khaleda Zia cordially,” he said.

BNP standing committee member MK Anwar said the ruling government is creating confusion among people in the name of dialogue.

They both spoke to journalists at the BNP headquarters in Nayapaltan.
