The opposition has announced that the vehicles carrying A Level and O Level examinees will remain out of the purview of its 60-hour nonstop countrywide hartal.
The A Level and O Level examinations began on Sunday, the first day of the 60-hour countrywide shutdown enforced by BNP-led opposition alliance.
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement more than six hours into the hartal which was enforced from 6:00am on Sunday.
Addressing a press briefing at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office around 12:40 pm, he said the decision was taken considering the interest of the students.
He also said medicine shops, hospitals, ambulances, vehicles carrying hajj returnees and the press, food shops and kitchen markets will remain out of the purview of the countrywide shutdown.
Rizvi said they keep the vehicles of emergency services, including the vehicles of hajj pilgrims, out of the ambit of the general strike on humanitarian ground.
