National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam on Tuesday condemned the attack on the motorcade of the party's Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari and Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam during the party's July march in Habiganj, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible.
In a statement, Nahid alleged that local BNP leaders and activists carried out the "sudden and armed attack," leaving several journalists and NCP leaders and activists injured.
He also alleged that the attack took place in the presence of law enforcement personnel.
Nahid further claimed that the NCP media team's microbus was taken inside the Habiganj District Circuit House, where it was attacked.
He described the incident as "disgraceful," alleging that the attackers not only vandalized the vehicle but also snatched mobile phones and cameras.
The NCP convener demanded the immediate arrest of those involved and called for exemplary punishment for the attackers.
