Disregarding the permission granted for Suhrawardy Udyan, BNP said they would instead hold their much hyped Friday rally in front of their party office at Nayapaltan.
BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi endorsed the information and said a delegation had already taken the matter to Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Thursday evening.
However, the result of the plea had yet to be confirmed.
Hours earlier, authorities granted conditional permission for BNP to hold their Friday rally at capital's Suhrawardy Udyan.
The allowance was granted amidst a capital-wide ban on rallies imposed by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police fearing probable political violence arising from simultaneous October 25 rallies of Awami League and BNP.
