The main opposition BNP will stage protest rallies and processions in district headquarters across the country on Sunday protesting the government decision on imposing ban on rallies in the capital.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement when the party standing committee meeting was going on at Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office.
Police announced restriction measures banning any forms of rally or gathering in the capital from Sunday 6am. The order will be in effect until further notice.
The BNP had called for a rally on October 25. They were determined to hold the rally and had warned an armed resistance towards any obstruction to this regard.
