BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has called upon the government to create an atmosphere for a credible national elections through dialogues.
Speaking during the exchange of eid greetings with people from all walks of life on Wednesday, the opposition leader said her party was not seeking violence, rather peace.
“Our demand is simple. We want the national elections to be held under a non-partisan caretaker government,” she said.
The opposition chief was speaking at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
She underlined that BNP was determined in the holding their October 25 rally. “It is not acceptable if we are not allowed to rally. The country does not belong to them (the government) only.”
The prime opposition party, BNP, has announced the rally a day after the term of the current government is expected to end.
Future programmes are expected to be rolled out from the rally.
