Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the NCP-led 11-party alliance have announced a fresh set of programs—including rallies, processions, meetings, and seminars—to press for the implementation of the July Charter.
The announcement was made on Thursday at a press conference by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar.
Prior to the press conference, top leaders of the alliance held a meeting led by Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman, where the programs were finalized.
Golam Porwar said that from Saturday to May 2, leaflets will be distributed and seminars organized in every divisional city and key district headquarters. Following this phase, the alliance will hold rallies in all divisional cities across the country.
He added that a mass procession will be held in Dhaka on Saturday. From the following day until May 2, programs including rallies, seminars, and leaflet distribution will be carried out in 12 city corporations and divisional cities.
At the press conference, he alleged that despite a public mandate from the referendum, the current government is not implementing it and is instead making a “U-turn” and offering different explanations on various pretexts.
