Mirza Abbas, political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and a standing committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has been admitted to Evercare Hospital, Dhaka.
He reportedly lost consciousness while drinking water during iftar on Wednesday evening. As his condition did not improve, he was taken to the hospital later that night.
His wife, Afroza Abbas, president of Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal, confirmed the matter to the media.
She sought prayers from the public for her husband’s speedy recovery.
