2 BCL leaders hacked, shot in Rajshahi

Two Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders from Rajshahi University sustained severe injuries when Shibir cadres reportedly attacked them in the Dharampur area, adjacent to the campus on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured students are Saddam and Tufan.

Confirming the incident, Monirul Islam, second officer of Motihar police station, said: “The attackers chopped Saddam with sharp knives and shot Tufan in the leg.”

They were rushed to Rajshahi Medical college Hospital, he said.

BCL President of Rajshahi University told the Dhaka Tribune that identified Shibir cadres attacked their leaders Saddam and Tufan.

He said his organisation was planning its next course of action in this regard.

Monirul Islam said no case had been filed yet in connection with this incident. Police were on their way to visit the spot.
