Survey: 70% say they will vote for BNP in 13th parliamentary election

The survey gathered opinions from 20,495 people across all 300 parliamentary constituencies.

A public opinion survey has found that 70% of respondents intend to vote for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections, while 19 expressed support for Jamaat-e-Islami.

The survey was conducted by non-government organization Eminence Associates for Social Development (EASD). Its findings were presented by EASD Chief Executive Officer Shamim Haider Talukder at the KIB Auditorium in Farmgate, Dhaka, on Monday afternoon.

According to Talukder, the survey gathered opinions from 20,495 people across all 300 parliamentary constituencies. It was carried out between December 20, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

When asked which party they would vote for in the next election, 70% of respondents named BNP, 19% Jamaat-e-Islami, 2.6% the National Citizen Party (NCP), 5% other parties, and 0.2% said they would not vote.

The survey included four key questions. On which party respondents believed would form the next government, 77% said BNP, 17% Jamaat-e-Islami, and more than 1% NCP.

Regarding predictions for the election outcome, 74% expected a BNP victory, 18% anticipated a win for Jamaat-e-Islami, 1.7% for the NCP, and slightly over 1% believed the Jatiya Party could emerge victorious.

Respondents were also asked about their voting behavior in the previous election. Thirty-five percent said they supported BNP, 27% the Awami League, and over 5% backed Jamaat-e-Islami.
