Hefazat-e-Islam chief Shah Ahmed Shafi was one of the instigators of the recent unrest in the country’s readymade garment sector, Labour Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju has claimed.
He said the continued spate of industrial unrest was the work of quarters that wanted to destabilise the country’s law and order situation.
“The government is investigating into the matter and taking appropriate actions against those who are behind the unrest,” he told reporters after a meeting with RMG factory owners on Sunday.
Raju said he had requested the owners to clear all outstanding wages and bonuses before Eid-ul-Azha.
