Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Saturday said his party will construct the Padma bridge if it is voted to power.
“The Jatiya Party will participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections alone. It will not ally with any party,” he said while addressing a public rally at Jhenaidah Wazir Ali High School ground in the afternoon.
The JP chairman said they were not confident enough whether there will be any election or not as the ruling party and opposition BNP could not come to any consensus over polls.
JP Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader, presidium member Ahsan Habib Lincoln, Sunil Shubho Roy and party Treasurer Major (retd) Khalid Akter, among others, spoke at the rally.
Ershad declared JP’s district unit president Dr M Harun-or-Rashid as the candidate for the party from Jhenaidah-2 constituency in the upcoming polls.
