Possible BNP violence will be dealt with severely: MK Alamgir

Home Minister MK Alamgir on Sunday said if the opposition parties tried to instigate violence in the name of their movement to oust the government, they would be dealt with severely.

The minister made this remark on Sunday after presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee of law and order situation review held at the home ministry conference room.

Alamigir said the overall law and order situation within the country was good.

Regarding political murders, Alamgir said: “It’s true that some incidents are happening, but those are isolated incidents. Most are happening because of internal political clashes. We are concerned about those incidents, but not in anxiety. We will do whatever is needed.”

The minister said the law and order situation during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja were also discussed in the meeting.

Telecommunications Minister Sahara Khatun, Labour  Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju and State Minister for Home Shamsul Haq Tuku also attended the meeting.
