National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer (South) Hasnat Abdullah on Tuesday said the party will never compromise on issues concerning national interests and that leadership born out of student-led July mass uprisings will shape the future of Bangladesh.
"If anyone -- even from within the party -- acts against the country's interest, strict action will be taken," he said while addressing a rally titled 'July March towards Building Bangladesh' in Meherpur.
"Leadership should not be inherited. It must be earned through people's mandate and merit. The people of the country are now aware and prepared for change," he added.
