Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Porwar on Sunday called for preparing to create a mass wave in support of the “scale” symbol of the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh for the upcoming election.
He made the call at several roadside gatherings at Sikirhat, Fultola Bazar, and the Shiromoni Shaheed Minar premises in Khulna, organized by the local Jamaat as he returned home after performing the Hajj.
Porwar said that over the past 54 years, the people have witnessed the rule of various political parties, none of which have brought about the desired welfare for the nation.
“Previous governments turned the country into an unstable state through killings, looting, corruption, oppression, and injustice. Now, the people are beginning to say that they have seen the rule of all parties, except for Islamic governance. That is why our ameer, Dr Shafiqur Rahman, has called for building a new Bangladesh and has announced a framework for a people-oriented and welfare-driven state,” said Porwar.
He added that if Islam-loving Jamaat members are elected to the next parliament, Bangladesh can truly be transformed into a “golden Bengal.”
He further said that after the mass uprising of 2024, there is now an opportunity to rebuild the lost path of Bangladesh.
"In this newly liberated Bangladesh, gained through the martyrdom of over 2,000 students and citizens and the crippling of about 30,000, no force should be allowed to give birth fascism again, to create inequality, or to commit injustice, oppression, occupation, and extortion," he said.
Porwar added that everyone must remain vigilant; otherwise, the dreams of our youth and citizens will be shattered.
