The National Citizen Party's (NCP) newly launched crowdfunding initiative titled "Your Donation for Tomorrow's Bangladesh" has gained significant attention during the Eid holidays.
Since the official launch of this campaign on Thursday, a total of Tk13,81,810 has been donated by 3,265 citizens across the country.
This information was shared on Tuesday via a Facebook post by the party’s Joint Member Secretary (Treasurer) SM Saif Mostafiz.
According to the treasurer, among the collected donations, Tk766,000 was sent via the NCP website, Tk498,214 through City Bank, and Tk117,596.41 via Islami Bank.
In his post, Saif also expressed gratitude to Bangladeshi expatriates who have contacted the party with interest to donate from abroad.
He further mentioned that expatriates will soon be able to donate through the NCP website once registration and some technical procedures are completed.
Earlier on June 4, NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain announced the party’s financial policy and the crowdfunding initiative at the party’s temporary office in Banglamotor, Dhaka. The campaign was officially launched the next day.
At a press conference, party leaders said that they aim to ensure financial transparency and accountability in Bangladesh’s political culture.
Donations to NCP can be made through the website using banking channels, mobile banking, or by collecting a receipt in person.
However, the party has requested that no money be given directly to individual members.
