Update : 15 Sep 2013, 10:09 AM

The prime minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy has reiterated his call to the people to re-elect the Awami League.

He was addressing a rally as the chief guest at the Telephone Shilpa Sangstha in Auchpara, Tongi on Sunday morning.

He said if Awami League were elected again, then the dream of Digital Bangladesh would move further ahead. Highlighting the technological advances that have already made, he said: “People can now transact money through mobile phones, which was once unimaginable.”

Claiming that corruption and terrorism reached their peak during the tenure of BNP government, Joy said: “We stopped terrorism. We are implementing the visions set to be attained by 2021, which is only half-done. We hope to do the rest. We have a target to make ours a middle-income country.”

Joy also said the Awami League government had increased workers' wages, which he vowed would be increased further.

After attending the rally, Joy started for Mymensingh. He is scheduled to address another rally in the Chandna-Chourasta area in Gazipur on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
