In protest against the ongoing brutal attacks and genocide by Israeli forces in Gaza and Rafah, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's student wing, the Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal, has announced a nationwide protest program.
The organization declared its intention on Sunday to stage protests at all educational institutions across the country on Tuesday in condemnation of Israel's atrocities.
In a press release sent to the media, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said Israel has turned the Gaza Strip into a death zone, adding that the country does not hesitate to kill children, women, and the elderly.
They also highlighted the international community's silence on what they described as a horrific violation of human rights, which they found deeply regrettable.
The leaders further expressed that the barbarity of Israel is beyond words and emphasised the need to protest against the ongoing genocide and build resistance.
The press release said: "As part of the announced program, on Tuesday at 10:30am, a sit-in protest will be held at the front of all educational institutions across the country, with black cloths tied around participants’ mouths."
"At 12pm, a protest march will be held from every educational institution in each city, converging into a central mass demonstration," it added.
The top leaders of Chhatra Dal expressed their solidarity with the international campaign "The World Stops for Gaza," saying that it is time to pay tribute to the Palestinian martyrs and the injured, and to build a global movement against these crimes against humanity.
They urged students and people from all walks of life across the country to actively participate in the protest program.
