The chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Nasiruddin Patwary, said that the upcoming election will not be a contest of muscle power.
"In this election, one cannot win by spending money or putting up posters. The young people who fought and won in July-August using certain techniques will use those same techniques again, and a significant portion of the youth will emerge victorious in this election," he added.
He made these remarks on Tuesday at an iftar gathering and discussion meeting in Hajiganj, Chandpur, attended by families of martyrs from the July uprising, administration officials, religious leaders, political representatives, social figures, professionals, the general public, and orphans.
Referring to an attack on their comrade Abdul Hannan Masud the previous day, Nasiruddin said: "The group that attacked our comrades in the uprising must be brought to justice swiftly. We are facing challenges in the upcoming election, but we remain hopeful of victory. This victory is not for any individual, family, or mafia system. We seek victory against extortionists, mafias, and tyrannical rulers. No mafia, armed gang, or extortionist will win—victory will belong to the students and the people."
Saying that Sheikh Hasina’s associates are working to bring the Awami League back to power, Nasiruddin added: "In this regard, we once again call upon all people of Bangladesh—there will be no place for the Awami League and its allies in the future of this country. Stay united. We will ensure that the Awami League is banned. We will continue our struggle until the Awami League is outlawed. There will be no compromise on this issue.
"Anyone advocating for the rehabilitation of the Awami League is an enemy of the National Citizen Party. The Awami League will find no place on the soil of Bengal."
